Why do you need a company video? Your case studies are enough to display your credentials, right? WRONG.
Your company video is the metaphorical aperitif to the 3 course fine dining experience that is your business. It eases your customer / client into what your company does and who you are. This can even be crucial when it comes to recruitment as people will feel encouraged to work with a company that is transparent with their work environment and displays the relationships between employees. That is why it is important to get your company video right.
The days of reading have passed us by. This modern era is all about consuming information as quickly as possible in an easy and digestible manner. Let’s be honest with ourselves. When we go on to research anything, if there is a video we are a lot more likely to click on it. Before ever considering reading the seemingly story book long paragraph written underneath it.
“Viewers retain 95% of a message when they watch it in a video compared to 10% when reading it in text.” - WORDSTREAM
Overall, it’s an efficient way to get across relevant information as well as pull on a person’s emotions to get them to continue on to your call to action i.e. buying a product, continuation of reading, contacting the company etc.
The quality of a video is also incredibly telling. It says a lot about a company. Many people create videos now and put them up on Youtube at a decent quality. So we, as a society, have grown accustomed to high definition cinematic clips that keep our attention. Which in turn has augmented the trend of showing less tolerance towards any kind of viewing issue to do with quality or buffering.
In our next post about Company Videos we will dive into what it is you can include in your own broadcast! (Click here)
